LKL is currently working with the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) in support of the Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project phase II financed by the World Bank.
The Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) is an organ of the East Africa Community (EAC) and focuses on the sustainability challenges to the Lake Basin. Lake Victoria is a major population and poverty center in the Africa Region, and a trans-boundary natural asset of global importance. (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda).
The engagement focuses on strengthening the knowledge sharing function of LVBC, to improve the gathering, storage and sharing of knowledge assets amongst key actors in the Lake Victoria Basin, and to ensure that critical policies and decisions on sustainable development are informed by knowledge in and outside LVBC.
